Good points, thank you. Admittedly I’m part of the jaded camp after a LOT of dating effort in LA. I’ve taken an extended break from apps and dating in general (pretty tough to meet women if not on apps or willing to spend $10k+ on a LaLa land matchmaker). It got to a point w/the apps I was letting it affect my emotional health. Even at my age (55) the antics shown on apps can be crazy.
would have to write a book! % of flakey people on apps, wonky app algos that can mess w/ones’ mind, misleading profiles (not exactly catfish but still misleading), not reading my profile closely (ex I’m sober as mentioned and the person acts surprised when meet for dinner & I order NA drink, though I clearly disclose in profiles to avoid this very issue), being unclear about what she wants in general (i.e. want to meet someone but in reality is ambivalent about making the effort and investing the time/energy), closed mindedness (i.e. women that say if you vote GOP, ever, don’t even try w/me and same on the left side). I think you said you’re in your 30s in a post. As I said I’m 55 so in GENERAL, both women and men (incl me) are A) more set in their ways at this point and B) tend to have degrees of baggage or trauma from divorce, careers, kid challenges and so on. If a past divorce was ugly enough, it can really jade the other person about relationships, trust etc, which I understand. Mine was not war of the roses but it still imprinted on me of course.

Curious, what were the biggest or reoccurring situations that you feel jaded from? Was it all over the board or the same repeated issue with the apps?
